Christian Brother's College

St. Joseph’s Christian College, a substantial brick building situated in Palmerin Street, was open in 1912 to provide a religious and secular section for the Catholic boys of Warwick and district.
The Christian Brothers was founded by Ignatius Rice in 1802 for poor lads unable to lean and utterly ignorant of even the first notion of religious or secular knowledge. From Ireland the congregation of Congregation of Christian Brothers spread to England, Australia and other parts of the world.
Father Potter arranged for the Christian Brothers to come to Warwick, the school was blessed and opened on January 28 1912, when Archbishop Duhig. D.D. was the officiating Prelate. Brother Kelly, Macintosh and Reidy comprised the first Community.
